Studer’s is a no-nonsense place. They seat you on dark wood tables, chairs, and benches, but compensate by lighting that is calm but not too dim. The menu card is two pages long. And on the wall is a board noting the weekend specials or appetizers.

What the place leaves wanting in choice, it offers in quality. I have been here thrice but have only eaten the one thing. Studer’s makes, by far, the best burgers I have had in Zurich. You can have yours classic, with cheese, bacon, or a double cheeseburger. All options come with fries - not the undernourished fries you get at McDonald’s, but health country fries from the South.

I’m sure there’s a lot else to try. The salads have proved to be good in the past, and the meat dishes look - and smell - excellent. But I prefer to stick with the winning combination.

Oh, and everything is “reasonably” priced for Zurich (the classic burger is CHF 19, and can be a full meal).
